He was the one who invented the popular mixture of flakes and dried fruit known today as muesli.
Making millet flakes isn't easy. High temperatures are often used in the process. Furthermore, the millet grains are thoroughly cleaned and dried before they reach our tables. Despite this complicated process, ground millet grains still contain a number of nutrients that are valuable for our health. Among them are carbohydrates (including starch) , proteins, and essential amino acids. Millet flakes are also a treasure trove of B vitamins. They are also a source of valuable minerals, including zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron. Interestingly, these flakes also contain a large amount of silica, the basic building block of creatine. Another important fact is that millet flakes are gluten-free. Therefore, they represent a valuable part of the diet of people struggling with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.
